Now put the foundations under them." (Thoreau) Personal Motto: "When I get a little money, I buy books; and if I have any left I buy food and clothes." I've done all of those things except the last one - but I did marry a scientist! :) Favorite subject: English Worst subject: Math Subject you learned the most about after graduating from school: History Unfounded fear: Driving over high bridges Terrible temptation: Chocolate Secret satisfaction: Being alone Chinks in Armor: I'm a perfectionist, so it often takes me a long time to get things done to my satisfaction. On the other hand, I don't have much patience when I'm waiting for someone else! Interesting fact: My home library contains over 5,000 books. Surprising fact: At one point in my life I was a self-educated amateur architect. My family and I are still living in the custom-built house that I designed. Favorite place: my house; the ocean; the wilderness Favorite vacation destination: The windswept coasts of Mendocino and Point Reyes, CA; the sandy beach along The Strand at Oceanside, CA. (I would love to visit the British Isles, New Zealand, and Cabo San Lucas but I've never been there.) Pet peeve: Food manufacturers that put artificial colors in their products. I refuse to buy them. Boiling point: People who attempt to re-interpret the original meaning of the Bible and the Constitution to fit their own personal bias. Most paradoxical quality: I used to dream of being famous someday, but in real life I'm so shy that hardly anyone knows me. What keeps me going: Counting my blessings and wishful thinking. The hair from your last haircut... what would it say about your style? The more things change, the more it stays the same!
