KNOWLEDGE HOUSE...
A Note From Rich & Teri...
Knowledge House is the name of our Olsen Family Homeschool where we, as parents, serve as the academic shepherds of our children's education.
Knowledge House is also a registered trade name for Teri's growing home-based writing and publishing business. Knowledge House and the Knowledge House logo symbolize the place where we live and learn - our homeschool - plus, they refer to a publishing house that produces educational materials. I would like to thank Brian and Lisa Berg, my brother and sister-in-law, who helped me to get this website started. Lisa designed the original pages and I used them as an example to follow when making all of the others. However, I've changed the pages quite a bit since then and now they reflect more of my own design. Brian and Lisa's company website can be seen at www.mediakube.com.
A Note from Teri about this Website
It was in 1996 when I originally made a 30-page Homeschool Resource Packet to hand out to new members of Desert Hills Christian Homeschoolers. I revised it a couple of times, about once every other year. Then in 2000 when I got my website, I began putting the same information online and found it easier to update that way. Since then, I have continued adding more and more pages.
I also found it easier to keep track of information that I wanted to keep on hand for my own future reference by organizing it on my website. (I had so many URL's bookmarked as "favorites" that I could never find any of them again! I am gradually transferring over the URL's from my list of favorites onto my web pages.)
The number of pages on this site now number in the hundreds, with literally thousands of links! It has grown to be one of the most comprehensive homeschool family pages (maintained by an individual homeschool mom) that's available on the internet - especially in regard to Arizona homeschool resources. (By the way, I did most of this from scratch - writing html code by hand without any previous training - so in addition to being a labor of love, you might also say it's a masterpiece of trial and error! ...Whew!)
I often find myself referring to this website when looking up things, so I hope everyone else will find it to be helpful and informative, too. How can I improve it to be more useful and user-friendly? Were you confused by any site navigation or content elements? Do you have any other comments or suggestions regarding this site? Please let me know! ~Teri
Please Note: These pages don't contain a lot of cute graphics, fancy backgrounds, or colorful images because the emphasis is on INFORMATION.
