![]() Drive Thru History American History Series Special Edition: Episodes 1-6 I was so excited to find out that Dave Stotts of Drive Thru History is making a complete 12-part American History series! The first two DVDs are available now, and I couldn’t wait to get them. They were fun and interesting to watch just as I expected, and the whole family enjoyed them. The host of the show, Dave Stotts, really makes history come to life. If you’ve seen any of the other Drive Thru History DVDs, you already know that each jam- packed episode features the best in cutting-edge video production and animation. Even better, they communicate history from a Christian worldview in an entertaining and informative way to audiences both young and old. The American History series is different than Drive Thru History America: Foundations of Character, although they go well together. The American History series kind of picks up where Foundations of Character left off, but not exactly. The Drive Thru History: American History series actually starts out by going back even farther in time. First, Dave Stotts drives through Italy, Spain, England, and Holland tracking down the story of Christopher Columbus and America's Pilgrims, an important early period in American history. Then it's on to Boston, Lexington and Concord to learn about the beginnings of the Revolutionary War. We see first-hand some of the places where our founding fathers risked their lives to shape this great nation. After walking Boston’s “Freedom Trail” we move on to explore the rich history of Pennsylvania and the city of Philadelphia. As always, Dave includes the Christian influences that have shaped history. In a fast, fun style all his own, Dave Stotts takes us from past to present, mixing the old in with the new. He’s like our own personal tour guide, bringing us along on trips to various cultural landmarks, showing what it's like to visit these locations today while explaining the significance of these iconic settings in history. If you can’t visit these places yourself, watching Drive Thru History is the next best thing! All the while, we get to see Dave Stotts driving around the countryside in his red Jeep, and pulling into campgrounds with his Overland pop-up tent trailer. We're a camping family ourselves, so we even liked the demos he gave of all his gear. Wow, does Dave realize that he’s living every home- schooler’s dream of getting out and experiencing history in real life! You never know where he will go next, so keep your eyes open for a red Jeep with the Drive Thru History logo on it!
